he preliminary value for the May 2015 CE Plant Cost Index (CEPCI; top; the most recent available) continued the trend of small monthly declines since the beginning of the year. The May CEPCI is 2.4% lower than the corresponding value from a year ago at the same time. This is a larger gap than the 1.8% for the April year-ago value. The Engineering & Supervision subindex rose slightly in May, but the other subindices saw small declines. Meanwhile, the latest Current Business Indicators (middle) numbers were generally slightly higher than the previous month’s values. The CPI output index for June 2015 rose from the previous month and was higher than the corresponding value from 2014. The CPI value of output rose from the previous month, but was lower than a year ago.
